How We Can Help
Services to help you find missing children
Family assistance
Our support services for families of missing children are designed to free the law enforcement agency to concentrate on the investigation. We typically advise families about what to expect and what steps to take, provide emotional support, and help families maintain a positive working relationship with Law Enforcement.
Intake and transmission of leads
We frequently receive leads from the public about missing child cases. It is our policy to immediately forward all information to the law enforcement agency handling the case. We have strict regulations regarding confidentiality and rely solely on the lead agency to determine the necessity of follow up on any lead.
24-hour Hotline - 800-587-4357
We are available 24/7 to assist Law Enforcement agencies and families of missing children.
National flyer distribution
At your request, we can do a case-specific flyer distribution anywhere in the nation, within a matter of hours. All decisions about flyer distribution are made as a team effort between the lead agency in the investigation and the Polly Klaas® Foundation.
International website exposure
Pictures help in the recovery of missing children and our website gets those pictures to hundreds of thousands of people.
National and local media exposure
If you need media exposure for your agency's case we can produce and distribute press releases and do radio, television or print interviews. We can also assist families by working on their behalf with the media, or by coaching them through the process.
Referrals to nationwide resources
The Polly Klaas® Foundation has developed excellent working relationships with other child find agencies, social service agencies and many Law Enforcement professionals across the nation. We have been fortunate to be able to call on these people and to refer others to them for assistance, depending on the specific need.
Referrals after the child comes home
We provide extended case management as long as necessary. We assist families with the hard work that often must be done AFTER a child comes home. Our aim is to strengthen the family so that a child will not go missing again.
