Abducted & Missing Children's Recovery Project
Parents will move mountains to meet the needs of their children and to keep them safe, especially when there is a cry for help. But what if mom or dad didn’t know where their child was and couldn’t hear that cry for help…
What if their child were one of the over 2,000 children that go missing every day. Imagine the anguish, the nightmare of not having the power to respond to their child’s pleas, to comfort them and make them feel safe again.
Today in the United States thousands of families are experiencing this nightmare. The Polly Klaas Foundation professional case managers are dedicated to finding these missing children and comforting and supporting families.
We want you to know that when parents first call our Abducted & Missing Children’s Recovery Project’s 24/7 hotline, they can always speak with one of our professional caseworkers. Our caseworkers take time with the parent to understand the circumstances.
Once the parent tells their child’s story and the caseworker has the necessary information, they begin a discussion about how the Polly Klaas Foundation can help.
Within the past year the Polly Klaas Foundation has:
♦ Sent almost 200,000 emails containing missing child posters all over the Nation; posters create awareness, generate sightings and leads of missing children, and in many cases, lead directly to their recovery.
♦ Activated over 2,800 eVolunteers nationwide to distribute missing child posters in their communities for dozens of missing children.
♦ Posted links to our missing child posters on our Facebook and Twitter pages, notifying citizens to be on the lookout for each missing child.
♦ Fax blasted over 35, 000 missing child posters to specially targeted communities to help recover missing children.
♦ Received missing child case referrals from the FBI, National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, National Runaway Switchboard, Team Hope, State Missing Child Agencies, AMECO, and State & Local Law Enforcement --adding these new cases to our already existing caseload with hundreds of missing children.
With all our services free of charge, we ensure all children who are missing can be searched for.
In our next email, we’ll share ways we turn parents’ anguish into action.
We are encouraged by the tens of thousands of you who have joined our efforts to keep children safe.
