Thank you for sharing the evening with us

Many thanks to the hundreds of people who attended and supported our Evening of Commemoration and Hope. It was good to be together as we acknowledged our history, discussed our services, and announced new programs that will benefit local youth.

The first program we announced will honor Polly Klaas' passion for performing arts with an annual Artist in Residence Program which will provide a one-week intensive performing art experience for up to 20 local youth. This will be named the Polly Klaas Artist in Residence Program. Students participating in the program will then perform what they learned for the public.

This first year we collaborated with the O'Brien Center of the Performing Arts who opened their studios (and their hearts) to nearly 20 local students that trained under professional choreographer Yannis Adoniou of KUNST-STOFF Contemporary Dance Company to create the piece for the evening. If you were there, you saw how beautiful the performance was, and heard first hand from some of the students how the dance residency had a profound and positive impact on their lives.

The second new program is the Foundation’s adoption of the nation’s Suzanne’s Law which will allow us to assist families searching for their children ages 18-20. This program was adopted to honor Petaluma’s Alyssa Byrne, who was 19 when she went missing in South Lake Tahoe earlier this year.

Thanks to the many citizens who established the Polly Klaas Foundation and who have kept our services going over the past 20 years. As a result of this community’s dedication we have helped over 9,000 families nationally to search for their missing children. We could not have done this without you.

Special thanks to our sponsors and to volunteer champions from Bank of Marin, local high school students, Petaluma Rotary, and community members for all their helping hands.

Thank you to our generous sponsors!
